Bankerhan Hotel Galata - Adults Only Special Category

The location is perfect, on a quiet side street in Galata and within walking distance of Karakoy (restaurants, bars & ferries), Istikal Caddesi and the tram across the Golden Horn to the main historical sights. The breakfast was high quality, healthy and lots of vegetarian options. All of the staff were so helpful, though the breakfast staff were particularly wonderful.

It’s my fourth time in Istanbul and this time with Bankerhan was the best experience: super location (5mins walk to Galata towel and 3 mins walk to tram which give easy access to see the old town). We got the room upgraded with sea views and fully equipped with AC and all necessities. The local style breakfast was simple but delicious. Hotel stuffs are also very helping. I would for sure stay here again next time!

The location of the hotel was fabulous. It was spotlessly clean & the choice of breakfast was great. The staff were excellent, especially the two guys on reception….Cagdas & the daytime guy. They were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this hotel and will be coming back next year.

Everything was very good: the location is great with a lot of cultural and shopping places nearby, the breakfast was rich and the room was very comfortable, clean, and with a pleasant view. The staff is really helpful and kind: they suggested places to visit according to my specific interests, furthermore, as by chance I had lost my passport just out of the hotel, they have been so kind to bring it to me at the airport!! Next time I pass by Istanbul I will definitely stay again at Bankerhan hotel.

This hotel is a real hidden gem and by far one of the best hotels I have stayed in. When we arrived we were given a free room upgrade to room with a an exceptional view. You can see Hague Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and across the Bosporus to the Asian side too! I would go back just to see the view alone. You may need to ask for a room with this view as from what I can tell only levels 4 and up will have this and need to be on the right side of hotel, lower rooms may not but are priced accordingly. Staff are exceptional especially Zaynep who helped as with recommendations for food as well as organizing our transfer to the airport. We spend 2 nights here and then went else where in Turkey, however, had another night in Istanbul on the way back. Was planning to try a different hotel but after speaking with Zaynep she organized a room for us in the hotel which was even better than the first room! Location is great and with walking distance to most of the sites to see in Istanbul, if walking isn't your thing the tram is close enough. The rooms are clean and modern but are on the smaller side. For a couple they are good but I wouldn't recommend for more than that.
